About the Bottom bar

The Bottom bar is the grey bar in the bottom while you're in the Email Editor.

Here's all you need to know about all the options available in the bottom bar.

Back

Click the Back button in the Bottom bar to go back to the Activity Page.

Your Email will be saved automatically, and will appear under Drafts.

Settings

While in the editor, open the Settings by clicking Settings on the Bottom bar.

It's divided into Email Settings, Design Settings and Unsubscribe Settings.

 

Email Settings

These settings reflect what was added previously in the Details step of the Email Wizard.

Changing these settings will override those in the Details step.

Click on an item below to expand:

Email Name

Review or edit your Email Name by typing in the Email name input field.

Subject Line

You may review or edit your Email's subject line under Subject Line.

Pre-Header Text

Review or edit your Email's Pre-header Text by typing in the Pre-header Text input field.

Sender Name

Your sender name will be displayed on your recipient's inbox. Edit it on the Sender Name input field.

Sender Email

Review or edit your sender Email on the Sender Email input field.

Reply Email

The reply Email is the address your recipients will send their replies to, and will also let them know if they can't reply to the Email. Review or edit it in the Reply Email input field.

🤓 We support emojis!

Did you know you can use emojis in your email, including the email's details?

When you're in the input field, right click with your mouse and choose Emoji & Symbols.

A popover will appear from which you can select any special characters or emojis.

Width

Adjust your Email's width by entering a measurement in pixels under Email Width (px).

We suggest a width of 600px, optimal for most Email clients.

Top Padding

The top padding will create a space between the top of the box where your Email is displayed on the Email client and the actual Email content.

Enter a measurement in pixels under Top Padding(px).

Body

Body Colour

Adjust the colour of your Email's body by clicking on the colour button.

Tick the Transparent box to make the Email's body transparent.

The background colour will still be displayed.

 

Click on the circle next to button colour to open the colour picker.

If you already have a standard colour, enter the colour code in the Hex box. Go ahead and enter the colour in RGB format if that's the method you prefer. The colour picker will save 16 of your recently used colours for each Email. Every new Email will have no recently used colours, but the colours will remain for each Email whenever you go back into editing.

Background

Background Colour

Adjust the colour of your Email's background by clicking on the colour button.

 

Click on the circle next to button colour to open the colour picker.

Border

Border Width

Adjust the thickness of your Email's border by dragging the Width slider right for a higher measurement and left for a lower measurement.

Border Radius

The radius of your Email's border will determine how round the corners will be. Drag the Radius slider right for a higher measurement and left for a lower measurement.

Border Colour

Adjust the colour of your Email's border by clicking on the colour button.

Adjusting your Unsubscribe Settings

How to Adjust your Email's Unsubscribe Settings

1. Make sure that you've added an unsubscribe link in your Email. Expand the item above to learn more.

2. While in the Email editor, open the Settings by clicking on the Email's name on the Structure Panel or on Settings on the bottom bar.

3. Since clicking the unsubscribe link will take them to a landing page, start by entering a headline for that page on Landing Page Headline.

4. Enter the message for your landing page under Landing Page Message. This message could be a question, asking them whether they are sure they'd like to unsubscribe or if they're there by mistake.

5. To confirm that they wish to unsubscribe, they will have to click on a button. Enter the text for that button under Landing Page Button.

6. On Unsubscribe Type, you will choose what action the button will do.

Click the drop-down menu to choose between Message, to show them a confirmation message, and Redirect Link to take them to another page of your choice. Regardless of the page you choose to redirect them to, clicking the button will effectively unsubscribe them from your Email communications.

If you choose Message:

Enter a message for the landing page under unsubscribe message.

If you choose Redirect Link:

Lead them to a page of your choice after they confirm that they wish to opt-out.

Enter the URL of that page under Redirect Link.

Regardless of the page you choose to redirect them to, clicking the button will effectively unsubscribe them from your Email communications.

Save as Template

This button will allow you to save your Email as a template. Save Emails as Templates so that your Emails have a consistent feel and to maintain brand identity. You may create them for future use, whether you're in the middle of creating an Email or want to go straight into template making.

How to Create a Template

1. Begin by creating an Email activity and choosing a blank template in the Templates step.

2. Add elements and assets to your Email. Read more about the Email Editor...

2. When you're happy with your Email, click on Save as Template on the Bottom bar

3. Name your template under Template Name and click SAVE.

That's it! It will appear under Your Templates next time you start the Email editor.

The template will also be saved as a draft.

 


 

Preview

Click Preview in the bottom bar to preview your Email.

Toggle Desktop, Mobile and the Text version by using the buttons on the right. You can see how the Email will look in all three formats, so you can make sure it will be displayed correctly no matter the device.

If necessary, make any changes to improve the way your Email is displayed.

When done, feel free to either Test your Email or Continue editing.

Test

Click Test to send your Email to one or more Email addresses in order to test how it looks.

 About Test Emails

When testing an email, the test email might be sorted by your email client as spam. Spam emails tend not to load images and all additional content in the preview, which is completely normal and done with your best interest in mind.

Please move the email out of the spam folder into another inbox in order to load all of the email's content.

Sending a Test Email

How to Send a Test Email

1. Click Test.

2. Enter the Email(s) you wish to send the test to. If you're testing with multiple addresses, use a comma to separate them. For example: "test_email@apsis.com, another_test_email@apsis.com".

3. Click Send Test.

4. When you receive the Email, make sure everything looks crisp.

 


 

Continue

Click Continue to proceed with your Email's sending preferences. It will take you back to the Conversation Wizard.
